CONTACT ZONE

Three-piece performance explores the forms of physical and spatial contact between oneself and the outside world. Each piece is a complete, independent performance, yet all the episodes are connected to each other. Through contemporary dance and music, the audience and the artists engage in the creation of a contact zone between people and groups of people living in parallel realities otherwise separated from each other.

An episode choreographed by Valeria Khripatch against the music of Nino Davadze, tells about divergent interpretations of reality and about seeking a common language. In the second episode, featuring Veronika Tikhonova’s choreography and Anushka Chkheidze’s music, characters from different realities find themselves sometimes in the open spaces of the Universe, or sometimes as a part of a virtual game where the rules are always changing. The third episode, combining the chorography of Natia Chikvaidze and the music of Gvantsa Enukidze, connects us to our body, identity, and internal chaos, where one voice unites with many different voices.
